Property & Grounds

The goal of the property and grounds inspection process is compliance with the law and a result that serves the Village of Sturtevant’s compelling interest to promote, protect and improve the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the Village.  Property and grounds inspections will be completed in a manner that is consistent with Village of Sturtevant Municipal Code and Wisconsin State Statutes.  All Village property owners and residents will be treated in a fair and respectful manner throughout the investigation and remediation process.  Failure to comply with any notice issued by the Property and Grounds Inspector may result in the issuance of a municipal citation under the Village’s Code of Ordinances.

Any person can initiate a complaint with the Village.  All complaints will be investigated by the appropriate Village department.  The assigned Village employee will Inspect the property to evaluate whether the reported issue complies with the Village’s Code of Ordinances.  The Code of Ordinances can be found under the Resources tab at the top of the page.
To initiate a complaint, please select the Property and Grounds Inspection form under Supporting Documents on this page.  You do not have to provide your name or contact information.  However, your information will help the inspector if there are any questions or clarifications necessary to completely investigate your claim.  We will not provide information about the complainant to the person being investigated.

Sturtevant has contracted with Municipal Code Enforcement for property and grounds code enforcement. Please provide the address and details of the concern in email or phone call.
