Sturtevant Partners with RCEDC

To help encourage business improvement, retention and attraction, the Village of Sturtevant created a new Loan Program ($50,000 – $250,000) with favorable loan terms – little to no equity requirement, low-interest, and principal deferrals. The Village also allocated funding for a Matching Grant (up to $25,000) aimed at assisting business and property owners with their expansion projects. Both the loan and grant programs are available to businesses within an area identified as Tax Increment District No. 4 (TID #4). Eligible uses include, but are not limited to land and buildings, machinery and equipment, site preparation, leasehold improvements, and limited working capital.

It is important for businesses and developers to have access to technical and financial tools to maximize their project success.  Sturtevant engages the Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) to facilitate its local economic development projects.  This partnership has been fruitful, resulting in several expansion projects such as BRP, Kerry Ingredients, Leman USA and Ashley Capital.  Recruitment projects have included UNFI, Grand Appliance, Home2Suites by Hilton and AutoZone.

RCEDC is a private, non-profit organization that has access to incentives, grants and loans to accomplish expansion, relocation and financing  projects.  Because finding talent is also important to our local businesses, RCEDC added a talent attraction program to benefit Sturtevant employers.

RCEDC is the first point of contact for existing and prospective businesses completing expansions, relocations, financing and workforce development projects in Racine County.
