It has been another busy year in the Village!  90th Street, off Highway 20, now has a stream of new homes, making the northern entrance to the Village beautiful and welcoming.  Complimenting the entrance is the new asphalt roadway.  The Sawall Development on Highway 11, thanks to good weather, opened its doors to several new residents in November - with more on the way.

Our new garbage vendor, Johns Disposal, has provided comprehensive services that include a monthly bulk pick up by appointment.  We have had many compliments on their extended service.

Our Code of Ordinances is undergoing a legal review.  Updated zoning language will be presented at a public hearing and then voted on by the board.  This long overdue revision will feature more concise language.  Look for this on the website early next year.

The Woof Dog Daycare opened on Durand Avenue thus occupying a previously vacant building.  They offer new services formerly not available in the Village.

We had fun celebrating 100 years of being named Sturtevant during the month of October.  Thanks to FoxConn for sponsoring the ice cream social.   And thanks to Celeste Builders, RA Smith, Sawall Development, Racine County Economic Development Corporation, Ashley Capital, DH Assessments and Hiawatha Bar and Grill for their  monetary donations that fostered the celebration at Klinkert House.  A special thank you to the Borzynski family for their hospitality and for allowing us to host the event at their historic and beautiful venue.  Thank you as well to the Village staff and the countless volunteers who consistently give their time and heart to making events in the Village a success!

Home2Suites opened to guests in September and celebrated its grand opening in early October. The 90-room extended stay hotel offers modern decor with an abundance of amenities such as in-room kitchens and an indoor saline pool.

2024 promises to be another busy year for our Village Clerk Cheryl Zamecnik and her election staff.  With the potential of up to four elections, ending with a presidential election in November, it will very challenging.  Please contact Cheryl at 262-886-7225 if you want to help during the elections.

Our Outdoor Recreation and Parks Plan implementation will continue in 2024, with the focus on North Park renovations.  We cannot wait to see the transformation!

Keeping Sturtevant "On the Move" remains our goal and we can certainly say that was accomplished in 2023.  The Village is a gem in Racine County with the best residents ever!  Sturtevant has been described as a quiet and tranquil place but we are quietly increasing our footprint in southeastern Wisconsin.. Stay tuned.

On behalf of the Village Board and Village staff, we wish you a safe and healthy holiday season and a prosperous new year.
