Sturtevant Announces 2009 Garden Contest Winners

Sturtevant Village President Steve Jansen announced today the winners of the third annual Sturtevant Garden Contest. Jansen stated, “The yard of Michael McClure and Debbie Lemke at 9308 Carol Ann Drive was judged to be the most beautiful front yard in the Village of Sturtevant by judges from the Potpourri Garden Club.” As the first place winner, Michael McClure and Debbie Lemke will receive an I-pod Touch donated by TDS. The contest was open to all residents of Sturtevant. Judging was based on color, creativity, balance, landscaping and overall appeal of the front yards visible from the street.

Second place was awarded to the Gary and Jean Manteufel’s yard at 2916 91st Street and third place went to the Lynn Evans’ yard at 8324 Queensbury Lane.

Jansen stated, “We would like to thank all of the residents who worked on their yards this summer. The many beautiful yards make Sturtevant a nicer place to live. We would also like to thank the judges from the Potpourri Garden Club and TDS for the donating the I-pod Touch”.

All three top award winners will have a picture of their yards featured on the Village web site.
